How do I get my candle to burn down the middle?

1) Limit the burning time in each session.  In other words, don't burn the candle for six hours straight! Chances are you'll generate too much heat and the sides will cave in, rendering your "well" non-existent!

2) Keep the candle away from drafts of all kinds.  Keep in mind that a draft can be caused by anything from a home heating register, to an open window, or just to a lot of passer-by activity!

3) Remember to keep the size of the flame small!  Trim the wick!  In other words, remember, the smaller the flame, the smaller the amount of heat the candle will generate!  So use this information to control your candle's burning!

This is one of the real benefits of our Soy Wax Candles. Because Soy Wax burns cooler than paraffin, should you spill some on your skin, you will experience a nice warm sensation.

It will not burn and leave a blister.

2

What if I spill wax on my skin?

No, your candle is not drying out. Frosting is a natural characteristic of soy! And it is strictly unique to pure soy candles. Often times it is called the "bloom."

We are dealing with a natural vegetable  wax with no chemicals & preservatives in it . So this being a natural product, soy wax can also sweat in hotter climates  & crack in some colder climates when in storage. To minimize frosting, try to keep your candle out of direct sunlight and florescent lighting.  A candle's looks are not nearly as important as smelling good and lasting a long time.

3

Why do soy wax candles sometimes look frosty on top?

This is a “fragrance mushroom”, which is found on high quality, high performance fragrance candles. This concern can be eliminated by always keeping candle wicks trimmed to 1/4" and by removing any of the mushroom head and debris.

4

Why does my candle wick sometimes have a "mushroom" head on top?

Why does my candle leave a residual wax on the sides of my container?

5

This is commonly called “tunneling”, and is caused when on the first burn of the candle it is extinguished before a full melt pool is achieved.

To get a full melt pool on any candle, it should be burned for a minimum of one hour for every inch the candle is in diameter. Most waxes have a “memory”, and if a candle is extinguished before a good first burn, a tunnel is left on the sides.

6

Do scented candles cause asthma or allergies?

There are people that are particularly sensitive to fragrance oils, yet there are people that are sensitive to essential oils as well- often time people that are sensitive to one may be sensitive to another.  This does not make either one "bad".

Although millions of people regularly use scented candles without any negative effects, it is always possible that a particular fragrance might trigger a negative reaction in sensitive individuals. Individuals with known sensitivities to specific fragrances may want to avoid candles of those scents.

If you have previously read information claiming soy candles do not produce any soot, It might concern you if you find it lining the edges of your soy candle container. Actually the truth is that no candle can be completely soot-free If you have fire you will have soot.
However the good news is that candles made with natural waxes do have significantly less soot than paraffin.

To keep the soot to a minimum, remember to only burn candles one (1) hour for every inch of it's diameter, keep the wick trimmed to 1/4" and keep the candle out of drafts.
